Almost all contractor Umbrella Companies have a special calculator on their website. Most people assume that these calculators offer a precise idea of their take home salary. However, this is not true in most cases.
When working with an IR35 Umbrella Company, contractors can easily declare some expenses. All these expenses are processed as tax benefit. This indicates that the contractor can benefit from a reduction in taxable income which is equivalent to the expenses claimed.
A higher net return promised by a company is often misleading. This is because your pay package will be equivalent to the promised amount only if you actually use up the amount proposed by IR35 Umbrella Company as expenses. So it would be better to trust an Umbrella company that does not claim a net pay assumption via using a calculator.
